Carly: Who are you? Where are you from? What do you do for a living?
Amalia: Hi!!! I’m Amalia! I’m from Denver Colorado. I moved to Houston to work for a nonprofit supporting victims of Harvey.
Carly: What was your 'Jewish experience' like in college?
Amalia: I went to CU- Boulder and loved going to Hillel for Shabbat. But, I didn’t create strong bonds and have loved coming to Jewston to create the community I have been looking for.
Carly: How has your time in Houston been?
Amalia: Houston’s been great! I love the food and diverse culture!
Carly: What has been the biggest surprise about living in Houston?
Amalia: Truly I expected “hicks vill” when moving to Houston. The typical cowboys and tumble weeds. I have been so pleasantly surprised and how massive the city is and how many amazing things there are to do.
Carly: What do you enjoy most about Jewston events?
Amalia: I love seeing my friends and exploring Houston together.
